To minimize the swelling please refrain from alcohol, Advil or any Ibuprofen products and salt intake for a week prior to your appointment. You can take up to 1000 mg of Tylenol 30 min prior your appointment to minimize discomfort. I recommended purchasing a chinstrap and bringing it to your appointment to minimize the swelling and to hold the ice pack.
For best results 2-4 treatments are required.
While XEOMIN® has many similarities to BOTOX® Cosmetic injections, there are also some important differences. BOTOX® Cosmetic is protein-bound, which may sometimes lead to a tolerance that is built up with continued use as the body’s immune system begins to recognize the foreign proteins. If the immune system takes more and more of those molecules, it can ultimately cause a more frequent need for re-injection of BOTOX® Cosmetic in order to keep the aesthetic results going. XEOMIN® is not protein-bound, which makes it less likely that a resistance to treatment will build up over time.

- Please bring any comfortable shorts with you that you can change into.
- Over the counter compression stockings are required to be worn after the treatment for one day.
- Itching – You may experience mild itching along the vein route. The itching can last 1 to 2 days.
- Transient Hyperpigmentation – Approximately 30% of patients who undergo sclerotherapy notice discoloration or light brown streaks after treatment. This is caused by the sudden release of blood into the surrounding skin. In rare instances, this darkening of the vein may persist for 4 to 12 months.
- Allergic Reaction – Very rarely, a patient may have an allergic reaction to the sclerosing agent or the tape.
- Bruising – Bruising may occur if the veins are weak and small amounts of blood escape into the skin. Certain medications (e.g. aspirin, ibuprofen) may increase the incidence of bruising.
- Pain – A few patients may experience moderate to severe pain and some bruising, usually at the site of the injection. The veins may be tender to the touch after treatment, and an uncomfortable sensation may run along the vein route. The pain is usually temporary, in most cases, lasting 1 to 7 days.
- Other side effects include a burning sensation during injection of some solutions, neovascularization (the development, usually temporary, of new tiny blood vessels), temporary superficial blebs or wheals (similar to a hive), and very rarely, a wound infection, poor healing, scarring and an intra-arterial injection.
- Phlebitis is a very rare complication, seen in approximately 1 of every 1,000 patients treated for varicose veins greater than 3 to 4 mm in diameter (larger vessels). The danger of phlebitis include the possibility of pulmonary embolus (a blood clot to the lungs) and post-phlebitis syndrome, in which the blood clot is not carried out of the legs, resulting in permanent swelling of the legs.

What is a Skin Tag?
A common blemish, a skin tag is a small, soft piece of tissue that hangs off the skin by a connective stalk. These bumps or skin flaps most commonly appear in the armpits, on the neck and around the eyes; however some people develop such lesions on their testicles, nipples or in the anal region. Often more cosmetically bothersome or annoying than harmful, these outer skin growths can take many sizes, shapes and colors.
Cauterizing. The best way to avoid scarring after the skin tag is removed is by cauterizing or burning it off. A small device delivers heat directly to the skin tag, destroying the tissue. The advantage to this procedure is the process also prevents the area from bleeding once the tag is removed.
After care: Keep the area dry for at least two days. After this time, you can wash the area gently with soap and water. Pat dry, don’t rub, to avoid irritation.

What is the downtime?
Typically the healing time depends on the severity of the damaged skin and the depth of the procedure. Most commonly there may be some redness that resembles mild sunburn. This may last for 2-4 days. Medical Grade Peels
This potent TCA and antioxidant peel is the perfect solution for photo-aging, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and acne. 5-Berry Pigment Control Peel combines 7% TCA and the reparative, protective, and anti-aging benefits of 5 natural berries: cranberry, raspberry, blueberry, blackberry, and bearberry.
Adult acne (non-oily skin), clogged pores and blackheads, slowed skin metabolism, and dull or uneven complexions are all problems that glycolic acid peels can help with. They can be applied every 7-10 days in low levels or every 2-4 weeks in higher levels, making this peel incredibly adaptive to one’s lifestyle with very little downtime.
The Jessner Peel is a medium-intensity peel that contains 14% of each acid (Salicylic, Lactic, and Resorcinol.) The number of layers applied during application and the tolerance level of the skin to which it is applied define the depth of this peel. Generally 4-6 layers will result in a medium/deep peel and 7-8 layers can result in a deep peel.
